Our services
1st Appointment
This is complimentary and gives the individual an opportunity to meet with the practitioner. The Chiropractor will then perform a few tests to ascertain the presence of vertebral subluxation. These tests are performed whilst the individual remains fully clothed.
2nd Appointment
Once having established the presence of vertebral subluxation in visit I, together with completed paperwork, prospective patients are given a physical examination to provide the chiropractor with more detailed information about the nature and extent of vertebral subluxations present. Spinal X-rays may need to be taken in certain cases to assist the chiropractor further in management protocols and prognosis.
3rd Appointment
A verbal and written report of findings together with recommendations is given, and the individual is then able to decide whether or not they wish to follow the prescribed course of care.
Your course of care
This varies from individual to individual depending on age, toxicity levels in the body, history of traumas, extent & duration of subluxations present. Generally, younger fitter, healthier patients require a smaller number of visits. At regular intervals, re-assessments and nerve scans will be performed to monitor & determine the extent of progress and to check that individuals are on track towards better health and vitality. Once having decided to follow our recommendations, individuals are put onto an intensive care programme designed to provide watchful care and to ensure that the momentum of change gets well under way. As progress is monitored & recorded at intervals, frequency of visits reduces in line with the rate of healing. Again, this varies from individual to individual depending on age and general health.
Your Care
This is INFORMAL & relaxed and mostly will not require the individual to get undressed. Patients are asked to arrive punctually, to wear comfortable clothing and low healed lace-up shoes. Please note that belts and ties should be removed.
What to expect from your care?
A variety of tissue changes occur after spinal adjustments which often produce sensations which may be felt either at the site of complaint or elsewhere in the body. These sensations can range from the very pleasant to the moderately unpleasant range. For example, the individual may feel relaxed, peaceful, and even sleepy, or they may experience stiffness and soreness the next day or two. The variety of initial responses is wide. The important thing to remember is that your body will decide how it wishes to respond to the incoming therapeutic stimuli and how fast it is able to heal. The body is an amazing organism, capable of incredible healing if given an opportunity to do so, and we believe that by removing nerve interference and thereby improving the bodys network of nerve communication, the potential for optimum healing is restored. It should be remembered that healing is a process and requires time. By using a holistic approach we empower the individual to journey towards better health and vitality.
What type of individual responds to chiropractic care?
Anyone of ANY age can respond well to chiropractic care, with very few exceptions. An extensive examination is required to screen out any individual who reveals signs that may contra-indicate chiropractic care. Our experience reveals that babies, children and sports people benefit greatly from chiropractic care. Also, the older and less active individual benefits extensively from care. We also help a number of patients with more chronic conditions such as M.E., depression, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, migraines and immunity deficient disorders. Our examinations are able to determine acceptance or otherwise of these complex conditions.
What we do not do
We will not simply address the pain issue. Treating the painful area in itself is not a thorough approach if the therapy is limited to pain management. Our goals are to address the causes of the condition presented, which may at times be primarily located in other areas of the body. We believe that our holistic approach is designed to empower the individual towards inner healing, this including the mind and body.
Homework!
Often the practitioner will provide some helpful tips on exercise, posture and basic diet to help achieve the individual's health goals.
Results
Providing that patients carry out their practitioner's recommendations, and carefully follow the prescribed care plan, we can guarantee better health in most cases.
